Long position

A long position benefits when the asset price rises.

Most terms show up in the option chain, order window, and positions/portfolio views (often alongside premium, IV, OI, and Greeks).

Because misunderstanding one term can lead to wrong strike selection, wrong expectations, or poor risk control. Vocabulary is part of risk management.

Many terms connect to one of the main drivers: direction (delta), time (theta), volatility (IV/vega), or execution (liquidity/spreads). Always map the term to a driver.
